Jeans: Imogene & Willie, Jacket: French Connection (here’s a similar one), Shirt: Vintage (you can find one similar here), Ring & Earrings: Margaret Ellis, Belt: American Apparel, Shoes: Lucky Brand (here’s a similar pair)

The weather in Nashville has been absolutely wonderful, so I decided to hop on over to the Franklin Farmers Market with my family on Saturday! From farm fresh produce to fun jewelry, this place was the perfect day to spend a weekend morning. My personal favorites were The Biscuit Love Truck, Baya Designs, and Dozen Bakery. Juice Nashville also sells their product there, but they were sold out so I couldn’t get a photo or a juice (bummer!) – however, they are opening up a new store in the Gulch, so be sure to donate to their kickstarter if you want more juice!

Oh! I also added a few more features on the blog – you can now just hover over an image to pin it, “like” or “retweet” a post at the bottom of each one, and comment with disqus! Let me know if you have any issues, I’m still sorting out getting all of my old comments back on the blog.

How was your weekend?

Meeting The Sartorialist

The Fashion Blogger Bible: THE SARTORIALIST. We all read it, we all love it.

However, never did I think I’d actually meet the man himself, Scott Schuman.  He did a book signing at my favorite bookstore, Parnassus Books, and was every bit as kind and welcoming as I hoped he would be. I even had the chance to ask him what his favorite fashion blog was, which he responded to by coyly gushing over his girlfriend’s site (yes, his girlfriend is Garance Doré - fashion blogger extraordinaire!).

If you haven’t picked up a copy of his new book, I highly reccomend it.  Also, please consider buying it from a local bookstore in your area instead of Amazon.

Also, for those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving – I hope you had a lovely holiday!

Boots: Marc Jacobs for Native, Tee: Imogene & Willie, Pants: H&M, Jacket: J. Crew, Rings: F21 & House of Harlow, Bracelets: Vintage & Gifted

So, I might have a slightly sprained ankle…which is kind of a good thing, because…I FINALLY DID A BLOG POST IN FLATS.  These aren’t just any flats, these are my absolute favorite, mind-blowingly comfortable, light-as-a-feather Marc Jacobs for Native Jimmy Boots.  I bought them last year when i went to Chicago and have been obsessed ever since!  I’ve actually been trying to expand my collection of flat shoes (even a heel-obsessed girl like myself needs a break sometimes!) and these boots have been a huge reason why.

Hope you’re all having a lovely week!

Earlier this week I spent a day in a class that focused on the importance of personal branding – how do you define yourself? What words or visuals would trigger someone to think of you or your brand? About 5 minutes into this discussion I immediately started thinking about my favorite website, Pinterest. This site is the perfect example of how people are personally branding themselves every day. I admittedly spend an absurd amount of my free time each week scouring the internet for the perfect images to “pin” that compliment my personality, lifestyle and the things that I’m passionate about.

I’ve been on Pinterest for over a year now and I’ve started to notice that certain user’s images have become highly identifiable. These people or companies have seemingly mastered the art of personal branding through a consistent visual identity. Each one tells a story and illustrates a lifestyle through carefully selected images.

I’ve shared five of these pinners with you below and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

1. Anne Louise of Anne Louise Likes

2. Bri Emery of designlovefest

3. Imogene and Willie

4. Joy Cho of Oh Joy!

5. Sophie’s Choice of Sophie’s Fashion
