Some of you might be wondering why there’s a smoothie photo as opposed the normal personal style shots! I’ve decided to occasionally post recipes because I love all things delicious & healthy. I’m not anything like my amazing food blogger brother, but I thought I’d start sharing a few of my favorite recipes (with nutrition facts!).
This smoothie is my go-to lunch or afternoon treat when I have a busy day. It packs almost 30 grams of protein (which is essential for this vegetarian) and you can’t even taste the spinach! Now don’t get me wrong, I love spinach, but I know it sounds kind of strange in a smoothie. All it does is add a pretty color :)
Try it out at let me know what you think!

this week is nashville restaurant week and i was lucky enough to enjoy a five course tasting at chachah,
which is a hip and trendy restaurant owned by arnold myint (whom you surely know from top chef
!). i went with four food bloggers – my brother vivek (vivek’s epicurean adventures
), beth (eat.drink.smile
), erin (visual vacation
), and carrie (tiki tiki blog
). arnold was kind enough to make sure that as a vegetarian i was able to enjoy the whole experience and he prepared a special vegetarian dish for each course! here are photos from the tasting:
smoking mary cocktail
beet carpaccioquinoa & eggroasted red pepper gazpacho with a scallop(i actually had this gazpacho with a falafel, but didn’t get a good photo of it!)palate cleanserpotato, eggplant & carmelized onion pavéflan
oh, and did you notice the baggy dress? that was VERY strategically planned.
ps - for more information on the regular tasting menu and more detailed descriptions of the courses (i gave extremely limited descriptions) check out my brother’s blog here. also, for more information on nashville restaurant week click here.
