Road Trip // Photo Memories

So this is it folks, the post you’ve all been waiting for! Ok, well maybe not all of you, but my Dad really wants to see these picts and well, you have to listen to your Dad! I had such a blast driving across the country with my big brother – we saw a lot of beautiful scenery, ate some delicious food, and had an incredible journey:

For those of you driving from Nashville to LA, here are my recommendations (mostly food & sight seeing, I didn’t have time to go shopping!):

Amarillo, TX: This was a weird place, so we just embraced the crazy. We went to this tourist trap called Big Texan, it was hilarious and dripping in every Texas stereotype!

Albuquerque, NM: If you don’t stop anywhere else, you MUST go to Mary & Tito’s – they even won a James Beard “American Classic” award! It’s authentic, delicious, and local.

Phoenix, AZ: La Grande Orange is one of my favorite spots in Phoenix. A friend of mine took me there last time I was in Phoenix and I just had to go back. They have these delicious english muffins that you MUST try!

Flagstaff, AZ: This place is gorgeous and the drive from Flagstaff to San Diego was the most stunning of the entire trip! Flagstaff has a gorgeous downtown area and I’m hoping to go back and explore a little more in the winter months (and maybe get in some skiing as well!). We went to a cute little local coffee shop called Macy’s.

(most people would just go from Phoenix to LA, but we really wanted to make a detour in San Diego!)

San Diego, CA: Oh San Diego, I see many weekend getaways in our future! We went to a fabulous place called Neighborhood (that has a secret bar in the back!) and Isabel’s Cantina for brunch. I really wanted to explore the fashion scene, but I didn’t have time, so I’ll definitely update you next I time I visit!

Sorry for the long post, but this was a great experience that I really wanted to share with all of you! Hope you enjoyed the photos & recommendations :)

Ring: Melinda Maria, Dress: BCBG Max Azria, Shoes: Steve Madden, Earrings: Vintage, Jacket: Silence & Noise, Belt: French Connection, Bag: Coach

You all know I’m a sucker for gorgeous rings and this one by Melinda Maria is my new obsession because I need more emerald in my life! I paired it with this fabulous blue maxi – it was a comfortable, breezy outfit for strolling around downtown LA. My brother was in town and we enjoyed a delicious meal at Alma, an amazing little spot that you all need to check out!

I’m editing photos from my road trip, can’t wait to share those with you as well! Hope you’re all having a fabulous week :)

Nashville, My Heart

There are very few places I love more than my hometown. Nashville is full of love, community, memories, and most importantly, my dearest friends and family. It’s a place I’ve lived for 20 years (considering I’m 26, that’s a looooong time!), and although I absolutely love it, it’s time for a change. I’m always up for a new, exciting adventure and I’ve decided to head out to Los Angeles, California! It could be a few months, it could be a few years, it could be a decade.  Who knows? It’s time to do a little exploring, sing a few songs, style a few folks, and meet some fabulous people along the way.

How soon? Well, I’m already on the road with my big brother for my very first loooooong road trip (2,000 miles!). I love that this blog has been with me through Boston, Miami, Nashville, and now LA!! Here’s to many future beach blog posts :)

Nashville, I LOVE YOU.

Tee: DCXV, Belt: French Connection, Skirt: Oshi, Bracelet: Gifted

That’s right folks, my first GIF! My next few posts are going to be a fun series I shot with the amazingly talented Will Vastine and will feature clothing from one of my favorite Nashville brands, DCXV. Have you guys seen the “I Believe in Nashville” murals around town (for you out of towners, you might remember it from this post)? My friend Adrien Saporiti (owner of DCXV) created that mural and has expanded to a clothing line. This tee is is one of my favorites – what can I say? I’m a sucker for a soft gray tee shirt and pretty much anything with french writing on it. He also started a kickstarter campaign to expand his company – be sure to support if you can!

Also, can I just say, these confetti photos might be some of my most favorite blog photos ever – and that’s saying something, considering I’ve been in the game since 2008!
